We could see the car driving automatically. The visual is from the inside of the car. So we feel at the driver's seat. The only thing I hate about this video is the shake of the camera. It could have been attached to the car itself. But the shakes shows that the camera was being held by one of the passengers who had of course no role in driving the car.

The link tells us that Google's software engineer Sebastian Thrun who is heading the project is researching various methods for driving safely spoke at the TED(Technology, Entertainment, Design a U.S private nonprofit foundation) conference about the Google auto car. He showed many video demos of the car avoiding many obstacles in regular roads.
